Greetings,

As President/CEO and founder of RPG Diffusor Systems, Inc., I welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our company. RPG was founded in 1983, with the corporate mission to continually expand the acoustical palette through a commitment to basic research. The spark that ignited this intellectual pursuit was the idea that despite the fact that sound could be controlled by absorption, reflection, and diffusion, there were no commercial sound diffusing surfaces in the marketplace. Hence, acousticians and architects were deprived of this important ingredient in the acoustical palette and the acoustical performance was limited in achieving its full potential. I was fortunate that my background in diffraction physics, music performance, and recording engineering provided a perfect fertilization to grow this new field. Because of RPG’s strong scientific staff, we were able to develop the research methodology which produced the knowledge to design, measure, characterize, optimize, and now standardize the performance of scattering surfaces. This led to the RPG Diffusor System, the most extensive range of sound scattering surfaces in the world. In conjunction with this innovative development of scattering surfaces, RPG also introduced the broadest range of sound absorptive surfaces to form the RPG Absorber System. Together, these cost-effective systems provide the everyday architectural acoustics community with the broadest, highest performing, and most extensively and accurately documented acoustical palette in the industry.

RPG’s staff, consisting of architects, Ph. D. acousticians with years of real world experience, musicians and engineers, has allowed RPG to grow into a truly unique and innovative company, which is not only recognized worldwide as the epicenter of scattering research, but also the acoustic industry's leading manufacturer, offering the widest selection of absorptive, diffusive, hybrid and variable acoustic finishes, performance systems and software to optimize, predict, and auralize the acoustic environment.

As a harbinger of the future of our industry, RPG also developed a new approach to architectural acoustics utilizing its Shape Optimization technology, which bridges the historic gap between the aesthetics and acoustics, by allowing the Architect and Acoustician to jointly develop customized, optimized acoustic surfaces that meet all the needs of contemporary architecture. RPG also offers the future of electronic architecture, where at the push of a button, a room can be electro-acoustically transformed, using microphones, digital signal processors, amplifiers and, speakers, into any desired acoustical environment, satisfying a wide variety of needs.

RPG’s client list is a veritable Who’s Who of entertainment industry’s most prestigious facilities and performers including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Juilliard School of Music, Peter Gabriel, Whitney Houston, Reba McIntyre, museums such as the National Museum of the American Indian and American Visionary Arts Museum, as well as recording giants like Sony Music and the Hit Factory. Plus the most prestigious schools and worship spaces, like the Weatherhead School and the 9,000 seat Southeast Christian Church. These prestigious projects demonstrate the acoustic performance of RPG’s products and reward the trust that the architectural and acoustical communities have placed in us. However, there are many neighborhood educational and worship facilities benefiting from RPG’s acoustical treatment on a daily basis. This demonstrates the cost-effectiveness and ease of installation of RPG products.
