The primary
acoustic goal for a Percussion Rehearsal Room is to control overall
sound power by using highly absorptive finishes on the ceiling and walls.
Ceiling
The ceiling should be approximately 18’-22’ above
the floor and should be a Acoustic Ceiling Tile with a high Noise
Reduction Coefficient of NRC-0.85 or higher.
Walls
About 75%
of the total wall area should be sound absorptive. This can be achieved
economically using RPG DiffusorBlox
(unpainted, slotted) or 4” thick RPG
BAD Panels over standard CMU.
Warning
This room
will be very absorptive and controlled. It will only function well
as a Percussion Rehearsal Room.
