New
Pinakothek Museum Opens with heralded acoustics
Modern art and acoustics by BASWA®phon.
The
Alte Pinakothek contains some of the world's finest collections
of European paintings. In the sixteenth century, Bavaria's rulers began
acquiring works of art for their personal enjoyments which were placed
in several palaces and galleries. In 1836, this collection was opened
to the public.
Across the street from the Old Pinakothek, the Pinakothek of Modern
Art opens to enthusiastic response. On the grounds of the old Türken-barrachs
is the huge building housing the Pinakothek of Modern Art. The impressive,
open architecture puts the works on display in a context, which emphasizes
both their individuality and their relationship to each other.
The museum shows the developlment of the fine arts in the 20th and 21st
century and is a centre for modern art of international standard. The
exhibition is divided into four sections Art, Graphic Art, Design and
Architecture. The visitor is presented with a unique overview of Modern
Art in all its variety of the highest level, in an acoustically designed
environment using BASWA®phon.
