Happy Thanksgiving
Thank you all so much for the overwhelmingly enthusiastic reception of the inaugural monthly effusor Newsletter.
The feedback has been very encouraging and I look forward to seeing those of you who have accepted our
all expenses paid invitation to visit RPG.
If you miss an effusor edition, all
previous issues are now on line.
NCAC
To strengthen our industry, we encourage all acousticians to consider joining the
National Council of Acoustical Consultants. RPG has supported the NCAC
with our educational centerfold for many years. We invite you to read
Diffuse Reflections Volume 11, Issue 2 and all online previous issues, as well as our view
of the State of Our Industry.
New Product RPG now offers a complete acoustically optimized Waveform ceiling canopy system
consisting of the 1D
Monoradial and
Spline, the 2D Biradial and
the 2", 4" and 8" deep Bicubics.
The Waveform series is available in wood and Glass Reinforced Gypsum, with many damped and undamped options.
Continuing Education RPG now offers a wide range of continuing education opportunities for acousticians.
Please join us for our all expenses paid Acousticians Only Diffuse Seminar June 22, 2007. You can view the
Agenda pdfs on line.
Also we invite you to visit our
Acoustics Library,
Diffuse Reflections,
Diffuse Bulletins and
Competitive Evaluations.
Testing, testing....
RPG offers free acoustical testing to the acoustical community for the random incidence absorption coefficient, using our
rev room (pictured) and normal incidence absorption coefficient, using our mid-high and low-mid frequency impedance tubes. We also
can measure the directional absorption coefficient, the diffusion coefficient and the scattering coefficient,
using our 2D goniometer. To learn the difference between the diffusion and scattering coefficients, study the measurements
for our QRD 734 and
Product Evaluations
Over the past 23 years, RPG has discovered how to design,
predict, optimize, measure and characterize scattering surfaces. Much of this research has been
published in our recent book. Recently, a few companies
have attempted to copy RPG technology. To keep acousticians fully informed, RPG has instituted a program to
evaluate all of the products that claim to offer diffusion in our industry. To the left we show an image
of a 1:5 scale optimized BAD template used in our goniometer
for testing. Please visit our competitive
product evaluations site for more information.
New Product
The new SIAP Mark IV represents
the next generation in electronic architecture systems, offering
the industry’s most powerful time constant reverberation processor.
The standard system offers 4 mic inputs, 6 line inputs and
up to 64 outputs with up to 128 programmable FIR filters,
each with separate frequency dependent early and diffuse reflections,
density and length. RPG will sponsor training sessions at our facility in the first quarter of 2007, so
stay tuned!
