The Topakustik absorptive wood system provides both interesting architecture and acoustical performance. The expanded ceiling system offers
many patterns, veneer and finish options and suspension systems, which can also accommodate large panel sizes. Panels are not restricted to
rectangular formats either. The photo shows a rhomboid option with reveal to give the appearance of triangular panels. This unique design
is also currently being installed on the uppermost 4 floors in the world's tallest building- The Burj Dubai.
RPG Specified on Edmond Memorial High School, Oklahoma
The Edmond Memorial High School, Edmond, Oklahoma, auditorium renovation was designed by Gary Madaras of PMK Consultants, Chicago IL. To provide
uniform coverage, intelligibility, loudness and intimacy, Madaras specified the Waveform Bicubic
and oriented them close to the audience. Madaras indicated “Even the lighting designers love the surfaces of the Bicubics and lit the Bicubics with
theatrical lighting for effects." DiffusorBlox were used on the rear wall to increase isolation
avoid echoes and maintain the already limited reverberation time all for less cost to the project than a gypsum board wall with fabric wrapped panels.
Madaras commented "In a nutshell, the DiffusorBlox and Bicubics allowed me to work around some
pretty inhibiting limitations, while achieving better speech intelligibility and uniformity without sacrificing any reverberance.”
RPG Selected for Harrisburg University
RPG provided material for the 125-seat auditorium that is part of a larger Academic Center at Harrisburg University. This auditorium features
FlutterFree-T
on the lower side walls in a custom stained black walnut. The rear wall is completely clad in
Topakustik planks of multiple profiles, also in a custom stained black
walnut. Finally, there are Absorbor Panels
mounted to the upper side walls. Acoustician: The Sextant Group (Pittsburgh, PA);
Architect: Burt Hill (Pittsburgh, PA) and Installer: ML Acri.
RPG at the Tidewater Community College Planetarium
This 90-seat planetarium in Virginia Beach, VA is housed in the new 70,500 square foot Science Building on this campus designed by
Burt Hill (Washington, DC). The Planetarium is the center focus of the building and is cutting edge with the highest-resolution laser
projection system available today. To avoid focusing from the round room, absorption was used on the upper side walls. RPG’s
Topakustik planks with an American Cherry melamine finish
were used on the lower wall areas. Architect: Burt Hill (Washington, DC);
Installer: Curtis Contracting, Inc. (West Point, VA).
RPG CDM-ISO-DPM Isolation Floor System
The expanded CDM roll out isolation system contains all the ingredients for lightweight wood or concrete floors, using fiber-free polyester mat (CDM-ISO-DPM)
and variable load strip (CDM-ISO-DPS) with the widest
range of elastomers and peel-n-stick wall mounted perimeter isolation strip (CDM-ISO-STRIP). Installation is simple and easy: no gloves or respirator required.
