RPG Continually Evolving
The RPG monthly effusor Newsletter introduces new products and services and highlights recent projects. If you are receiving this Newsletter
for the first time, here is a link to all previous issues
online.
In this issue, we continue our focus on RPG's proprietary capability of optimizing, testing and manufacturing custom shapes that
may be of interest to the architectural and acoustic community. We feature a Topakustik wave installation. Read More.
This innovative procedure was presented at the Acoustical
Society Meeting in Miami.
Innovative Decorative Acoustic Topakustik Panel
Topakustik recently introduced a new concept in decorative absorptive wood paneling. The floral decorative pattern is achieved at the factory with a
pattern of drilled holes, which show up as a lighter color and provide both sound absorption and decoration. Custom patterns are possible.

Introducing the CDM-ISO-DPM
CDM-ISO-DPM (Distributed Pad Mat) is an improved and cost effective roll out isloation mat to float a concrete or wood floor. Traditional rollout insolation matts
consist of unidirectional plastic encapsulated fiberglass pads embedded in a low density fiberglass blanket. The improved system
consists of a user-friendly, fiber-free polyester matt with distributed omnidirectional cork-rubber pads, both with recycled content.
In addition to the sustainability and fiber-free issues, the new roll out isolation matt offers several elastomer options with resonant
frequencies between 6-10 Hz, compared to the fiberglass pads with resonant frequencies between 10 to 14 Hz. Fiberglass pads also cannot be used in shear
force conditions (slanted floor), which is not an issue with the DPM pads. A wide variety of elastomers are available for wet or dry installations.
Installation is simple and can be done without gloves or loose fiber mask. (1) apply perimeter
elastomer strips CDM-MF around the perimeter of the room, (2) roll out the DPM matts, (3) Apply a plywood or MDF layer, (4) for a wet concrete system apply
a plastic barrier and (5) apply the mass layer and finish floor. For more information, please download the
CDM-ISO-DPM brochure.

Fiber-free, Light-transmitting, Microperforated Absorbers
Microperforated, fiber-free, light-transmitting plastics offer a new solution for sound absorption with daylighting.
Fiber-free absorption is critical in health care, hospitality, food service, hotels, restaurants and schools. In addition, they provide a needed
solution in large
glass-dominated enclosures, such as atria, lobbies, convention centers, botanical gardens, etc.
