RPG Happy New Year
As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, we will be announcing several significant developments at RPG. We begin the new year with the announcement that RPG will launch a Noise and Vibration Control Division
in March 2008. This evolution into noise control is a very natural extension of our interior room acoustics products and services.
Rather than develop a completely new range of products, we decided to join forces with CDM, an established leader in room isolation, base building isolation and rail products
and design services. CDM was selected, after consideration of many companies, because it shares the same pedigree as RPG for innovation, fundamental acoustics research and development, proof-of-performance testing,
design assistance, experience and customer service.
Announcing the CDM-RPG Room Isolation System
Please allow us to introduce our new partner. CDM (Customized Design of Mass-spring-systems) has specialized since 1951 in the design, production and implementation of noise and vibration isolation
systems. CDM is active worldwide in the building, industrial and railway infrastructure (track) business and consists of a multifunctional engineering team, continuously in search of the
most economical way to isolate noise and vibration. This is done in relation to the project requirements and related budgets. Regarding the design, CDM is not bound in its choice of
materials, which creates the freedom to choose among elastomeric solids, springs or air cushions to provide the appropriate solution.
The CDM-RPG Room Isolation System includes a complete range of floor, wall and ceiling isolation products to fabricate a complete room-in-room design. In addition, RPG is offering
complete design assistance and shop drawings. We will also be offering educational courses at RPG on the new system, as well as fundamentals of noise and
vibration isolation in conjunction with CDM.
Did You Know? Schools are RPG's #1 Client
RPG is now being specified in school systems across the country, because it offers a complete range of innovative products and design assistance for
classrooms, lecture halls, auditoria, music practice and rehearsal rooms, gymnasiums, swimming pools, meeting/conference/teleconference rooms, recording and broadcast studios,
computer rooms, laboratories, power generation and HVAC facilities.

Completed Projects
Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD recently completed a new library and campus mall at the center of the campus designed by Design Collaborative architects, with consulting
architect Sasaki and Associates. The acoustician was Shen, Milsom and Wilke, Ballston, VA. Designed to accommodate traditional library program elements, this 220,000 square foot library also provides for special African-American
collections and meeting spaces, a government documents repository and special instructional spaces. This project was a milestone accomplishment
for RPG due to its size, detail, shop drawings and special veneer requirements. Our perforated, absorptive Topperfo wood paneling was specified to cover the entire feature wall opposite the exterior glass wall. The project
required over 2,000 numbered and sequenced custom sized panels spaced with horizontal and vertical reveals and precisely labeled in the shop drawings. Detailed cutouts and returns
were all factory fabricated to accommodate the display cases, windows and doors. There were three perforation diameters at different levels as well as reflective millwork panels. Custom
flitches were supplied by the client, which were laid up into panels, drilled and finished to match the rest of the project. Morgan State University illustrates RPG's capability in handling all aspects of complex high end
acoustical wood projects.
