RPG Continually Evolving
The RPG monthly effusor Newsletter introduces new products and services and highlights recent projects. If you are receiving this Newsletter for the first time, here is a link to all previous issues online.

RPG developed an informative PowerPoint addressing modern school acoustics and LEED for Schools. We invite you to download this presentation on Modern School Acoustics (8.4 Mb) and contact your local RPG representative for an AIA/CES accredited presentation in your office.

RPG Collaborates on a LEED Silver Office Building
The RPG Topakustik system was selected by Gensler Architects in Houston, Texas for use in the lobby of the Oak Park Office Building to feature the "green" focus of the project. RPG supplied Topakustik and non-acoustic planks with FSC certified steamed beech veneers on cores with no formaldehyde added. All adhesives had low VOC content.

RPG CDM-ISO-DPM Isolation Floors at DeMatha High School
DeMatha High School, Hyattsville MD, is renovating an existing building to house the new music facility and is also adding a new convocation center. The architect is The Mulhern Group, Denver CO and the acoustician is Shen Milsom Wilke, Arlington VA. RPG's CDM isolation system and interior acoustical products were selected for the new music facility. In this issue, we focus on the CDM-ISO-DPM floor isolation system which offers several advantages over conventional roll out isolation mats. The fiber-free polyester mat replaces typical fiberglass mats and allows contractors to work without gloves and respirators. The isolation pads offer resonant frequencies down to 6 Hz, for greater isolation efficiency. The pressure sensitive adhesive on the rear of the cork rubber perimeter isolation strip allows simple and quick installation. Pad spacings of 16" or 24" are available for the 2" isolation pads. The new CDM-ISO-DPS 4" wide strips have 2" square pre-punched holes every 4" so that pads can be added as needed in high load areas, like doorways and floor perimeters when a wall is supported by the floor.

CATT
We continue to offer assistance with the most comprehensive acoustic modeling and auralization package, CATT-Acoustic v8.x. and provide absorption and scattering modeling coefficients in CATT and EASE formats. New pricing effective 11/1/2007. Prediction and Auralization modules each $3,000. We can help facilitate the building and prediction of your models.

Education
Please join us for our Diffuse Seminars. Dates to be announced. You can view the Agenda pdfs on line. We also invite you to visit our Acoustics Library, Diffuse Reflections, Diffuse Bulletins and Competitive Evaluations.

Test Data
RPG is offering random and directional incidence diffusion, scattering and absorption coefficients for all of its products. Random and directional incidence diffusion coefficients and polar patterns (shown below) indicate the uniformity of diffusion and can be used in CSI specifications and as a metric to compare potential diffusing surfaces. The random incidence absorption coefficient can be used in CSI specifications as a metric of absorption efficiency. The directional and random incidence scattering coefficients can be used in computer modeling programs, but not as a metric of diffusion uniformity.
