RPG is committed to the goals of the USGBC and we invite you to visit us at the PCD Engineering Booth 5239 from November 11-13th in Pheonix, AZ.
At RPG we manufacture fire-rated, sound diffusing and absorbing products in compliance with LEED guidlines. We will also feature our new
Noise and Vibration system.
In this issue we feature health care facilities using our popular Topakustik absorptive wood system. Sinai Hospital Atrium useds our Topakustik
panel system and Northwest Hospital Center Expansion uses our tongue and groove Topakustik plank system.
Sinai Hospital Atrium
This atrium was part of an 87,000 square foot addition to the hospital that was a green building expansion. The highlight of the expansion project was the 8,000 square foot atrium that is a large common area providing lots of natural light, vegetation and a water feature. It is a peaceful environment for patients, visitors and staff. Two adjacent walls of this atrium are covered with Topakustik Panels to help control the sound level in the space. The Topakustik panels are a 13/3 M pattern in American Cherry and are trimmed with a metal reveal between each panel. RPG provided both grooved and ungrooved panels on this project.

Northwest Hospital Center Expansion
RPG was involved in providing materials for the new Outpatient Registration area and the Herman & Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center. In both cases the Topakustik material was used around registration stations, check-in areas, and waiting room areas. The addition of acoustical materials in these spaces allow for more speech privacy as well as lower reverberant levels for a more pleasant environment. These areas used Topakustik tongue and groove planks on the wall in an American Cherry finish as well as 2x2 concealed grid lay-in tiles in a floating cloud application also in an American Cherry finish.

Boston Medical Center
RPG has provided Topakustik Tiles for the Moakley Building of the Boston Medical Center. This is a cancer care center that provides access to state-of-the-art services and clinical research. The building was an addition of 134,000 square feet to the hospital and shares a common entry concourse with the entry lobbies of Boston Medical Center. The RPG materials are located in the waiting room area and corridor and are successful in providing a quiet acoustical environment in these spaces. The project utilizes Topakustik Panels in a 2x2 lay-in grid in a 12/4 pattern and an American Cherry finish.
There were plain panels also provided by RPG in this project to keep finish and veneer matching consistent.
