“When prosperity comes do not use all of it” Confucius

Life is good! The strong US economy is having a profound effect on the architectural acoustics business. Practically every acoustician and architect we visit is busy, hiring, and optimistic.

RPG® has optimized its 25,000 square foot manufacturing facility and is approaching two full production shifts to keep up with demand. Our coating facility is running at full capacity while the desire for custom wood species, special finishes, and new shapes continues to soar.

RPG® is experiencing the highest volume of orders in its history. Projects span the recording industry, home theater, performance facilities, education facilities, worship spaces, noise control, and CHAOS Optimization.

DiffusorBlox® sales have risen exponentially to the point that almost all licensed producers own their own molds, minimizing the need to ship these molds across the country. The educational market is particularly strong.

RPG® continues it’s relationship with many of the high end, custom install home theater companies. The flat binary amplitude diffsorber (BAD™ Panel) has practically replaced traditional fabric wrapped panels sales in the surround sound conscious home theater market. The need for a diffsorbing flat panel was so great that we practically went from product introduction to full capacity manufacturing overnight. It is particularly gratifying to see intellectual property enter the market place so rapidly and effectively.

The VariScreen™, which includes the BAD™ Panel technology, is becoming a floor standing variable acoustics standard. It offers trade show exhibitors high end acoustical performance in almost any acoustically unfriendly environment. Visit the Sony DSD demo room at the next trade show and hear for yourself!

RPG® diffusors remain the most affordable, popular, and effective diffusors in the industry. Diffractal®, Skyline®, and Omniffusor™ sales are at an all time high. RPG®’s presence in the project studio market has expanded with the introduction of the Studio in a Box Silver Package.

CSI

RPG® is now a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). We will be making presentations at local chapter meetings across the nation. CSI specifications for many of RPG®’s products are now online. Contact RPG if you have any questions about CSI specifications.

The diffusion industry RPG® founded in 1983 is growing. We encourage consultants to request diffusion and absorption coefficient data from manufacturers along with the method used to collect and analyze these data. Be certain that data are collected at 5° angular resolution for all angles of incidence and observation. If you have any questions about diffusion measurements please contact Dr. Peter D’Antonio (pdantonio@rpginc.com).

RPG® is a member of two standards organizations to develop and promote the use of diffusion coefficient standards: the AES SC-04-02 and the ISO WG 25. Beware of acoustical paint!!
