DIFFUSE
SEMINAR AGENDA
RPG and its Product
Representatives host Diffuse Seminars at the RPG headquarters in Upper
Marlboro, MD for all qualified professional architectural and acoustical
designers and specifiers. The seminars are a continuation of the material
presented in the 1-hour AIA/CES
program previously offered at individual offices. They offer
attendees an opportunity to interact with other leading professionals
in a full day of intriguing and design-provoking activity.
Who should attend?
All specifiers and designers are invited. This includes Architects, Acoustical
Consultants, Recording and Broadcast Studio Designers, Sound Contractors,
Home Theater System Integrators, etc.
What will
occur?
This day-long seminar on Architectural Acoustics is presented by several
of RPG's leading Acousticians who have over 60 years of combined acoustics
experience. They combine the right mixture of acoustic fundamentals, acoustic
product/material information, conceptual acoustic design strategies and
real world completed project examples to teach attendees how to determine
the acoustic goals for rooms, recognize and avoid potential acoustic problems,
select the correct types of acoustical materials and locate them most
effectively in each of the most common types of rooms. The goals are to
increase overall acoustical awareness, encourage/facilitate the working
relationships between architects and acoustic consultants and ensure an
acceptable level of acoustic quality when acoustic consultants are not
involved. The seminar format takes a room by room approach from auditoriums,
through worship spaces to gymnasiums and natatoriums. Computer modeling
and auralizations (auditory simulations) are used so that attendees are
able to actually hear the effects of various room acoustic treatment strategies
on speech and music. Attendees can receive up to 4 AIA/CES learning units
that also qualify as health, safety & welfare units.
Agenda
A wide range of topics will be covered and pdf versions of all presentations
are provided in the Agenda bucket at the right for evaluation.

are they held?
