Lincoln Way High School
 Consultant
Yerges Acoustics, Downers Grove, IL: “The Owner’s program, supervision, and budget requirements dictated a 1,346 seat multipurpose auditorium on one level, with a fully rigged stage house and adequate sight lines. This imposed severe constraints on shape and configuration. Yerges Acoustics specified an extensive application of DiffusorBlox® in the side walls to ameliorate the effects of the hall’s excessive width. Some reverberation and lateral energy can be maintained without echo or loss of speech intelligibility. Before the introduction of DiffusorBlox®, this solution would not have been economically feasible.”
 Architect

Lincoln Way High SchoolDahlquist and Lutzow Architects, Ltd., incorporated the firm’s philosophy of combining excellent form with progressive and lasting function in a particularly striking manner when they designed the spacious 1,346 seat auditorium in Lincoln Way High School. “The Fine Arts Wing is large enough to accommodate school functions and serve as a community cultural center. The dramatic auditorium utilizes DiffusorBlox® walls, a sophisticated system of stage lights and pulleys, and a 5,310 square foot stage. This state of the art facility is unmatched by any area high school.”

 Client
Lincoln Way High School District 210 Superintendent Lawrence A. Wyllie and the community sought an acoustically superb 1,346 seat performance hall for a variety of music from band and orchestra concerts, musicals, dramatic plays, and a host of community events. RPG®’s DiffusorBlox® were critical in bringing out the best sound for the variety of events the high school presents.
