Encounters with Aliens on this Day August 7
1869 – Around midday a luminous square body settled near the
center of an empty lot in Adamstown, Pennsylvania in Lancaster
county. It shot up a shiny column four feet high and two feet thick that
glittered like burnished silver. It gradually faded away, and was gone in
10 minutes. It frightened the four witnesses, but left no traces. (Source:
Skylook, March 1972).
1915 – Starting at 9:15 p.m. a huge glowing blimp hovered over Berlin, Germany for over 80 minutes. It made a buzzing sound. When it left it was gone in less than a minute. (Sources: J. Bernard Delair, UFO Register: 1977; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 329).
1947 – At around noon three witnesses on a ranch in the Tygh Valley, northeast of Ontario, Oregon
sighted two plain, flying disc-shaped objects flying north. They were
not planes, according to the witnesses. (Source: Jan Aldrich, Project 1947: A Preliminary Report on the 1947 UFO Sighting Wave, p. 200, citing the Ontario Argus).
1947
– On this night Judge and Mrs. A. Turner were driving on US Highway 395
in the desert east of Red Mountain in San Bernardino County, California
when they sighted seven silver saucers hovering in the sky. The
discs hovered in place for 15-20 minutes. (Source: Larry Hatch, U
computer database, case # 1233, citing Loren E. Gross, UFOs: A History. 1947, p. 56).
1950 – At around 4:00 a.m. a dark object was sighted flying below a C-47 in flight near Santa Fe, New Mexico.
A military jet at 30,000 feet altitude attempted to close on the UFO,
but could not catch up with it at 620 mph. (Sources: Loren E.
Gross, UFOs: A History. 1950: August-December, p. 4, citing Project Blue Book; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 1799).
1952 – Three witnesses, including a Mrs. S. Pfuhl in San Antonio, Texas,
saw four glowing white discs at 9:08 a.m. One object made a 180 degree
turn, one flew straight and level, another veered off, and the
last one circled in the sky for 70 minutes. A U.S. Air Force
Project Blue Book unknown. (Sources: Project Blue Book, case # 1855;

1952
– At 7:50 p.m. a U.S. Navy plane flying at 4500 feet altitude on a
routine night training flight over Fort Lyautey, west northwest of Sidi
Slimane, Morocco witnessed a
streak of light that climbed at a shallow, then a steep angle. It
circled plane during its second approach at an
estimated speed of 4000 mph. (Sources: Project Blue Book files;
UNICAT, case # 739,Loren E. Gross, UFOs: A History. 1952: August, pp. 30-31).
1954
– At 4:15 p.m. a 15 meter in diameter domed metallic disc was viewed
through binoculars by a military witness as it flew over Zurich, Switzerland. (Sources: Jimmy Guieu, Flying Saucers Come from Another World, p. 77; Jimmy Jacques Vallee, Challenge to Science: The UFO Enigma, p. 212; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 3504).
1954 – At 7:30 p.m. Gabriel Coupal, age 13, and another boy were
out riding a horse when they saw a luminous, nine foot wide sphere land
150 feet away from them in Hemmingford, Quebec. After landing the
sphere turned black. A door opened, and “a big tall man with big round
eyes” got out. He was dressed in a skintight black rubber diver suit that
covered his entire body except his head, and was carrying what looked like
a “machine gun.” There was a “buzz like a bee.” The man approached and the
boys galloped their horse for the house. The UFO rose, passed close by
them, and landed again near the horse barn. It “had a black cable with a
square thing hanging” from it. In the moonlight the landed UFO looked
“like a soap bubble,” and three men were seen walking around it. Mrs.
Coupal telephoned Hemmingford to get another witness, but when three more
people arrived the object took off, glowing orange. It had been present
for an hour or more. There was a circle of flattened grass 30 feet in
diameter where the object had rested. (Sources: David F. Webb & Ted
Bloecher, HUMCAT: Catalogue of Humanoid Reports, case 1954-42,
citing Dr. Adolph Dittmar, Civilian Saucer Intelligence; newspaper
clipping, August 17, 1954).
1954 – On the same evening at 11:28 p.m. the German military in
Kaiserlautern, Rhineland-Palatine, Germany witnessed a UFO that
changed shape from an ovoid object to a sphere, and then to a dome.
(Source: Loren E. Gross, UFOs: A History. 1954: June-August, p.
66).
1961 – On this day in Heaton Morr, England near
Manchester a cigar-shaped cloud was seen to release 20 or more smaller
objects as it passed overhead. (Source: Jacques Vallee, Anatomy of
a Phenomenon, Chicago: Henry Regnery, 1965, p. 155).
1962 – At just before midnight a nocturnal light was sighted
over a Titan nuclear missile silo near Oracle, Arizona in Pinal
County. Air Force jets were scrambled to chase the object. The light flew
away and came back, then rose vertically and was gone. (Sources: APRO
Bulletin, September 1962, p. 1; Coral E. Lorenzen, UFOs: The Whole
Story, p. 235).
1963 – On this night in Centralia, Illinois five people observed a luminous night source flying slowly over the railroad tracks. The direction of travel was to the west; then to the north. It appeared ready to land in a wooded area. Its luminosity was variable. (Sources: Jacques Vallee, Passport to Magonia: A Century of Landings, case # 576, citing ATIC; Jay Rath, p. 56).
1963 – At 8:45 p.m. in Fairfield, Illinois
Chauncey Uphoff and Mike Hill had their attention attracted to a light
in the sky when Uphoff’s dog began barking. Looking up, they saw a
yellow-orange diamond-shaped object traveling west to east at an
altitude of a thousand feet or more. The object later turned a dull
gray color. The UFO made a sharp turn at high speed and headed north
directly toward the witnesses, while changing color to orange and
finally to a brillian bluish white. At its closest approach, right in
front of the witnesses, it looked like “a ball diamond turned
sideways.” “It had a depth to it,” said Uphoff. The object made a
U-turn, tilting on edge, and turned southeast towards Grayville. After
hovering briefly, it took off at a 45 degree angle. (Source: Francis
Ridge, Regional Encounters, p. 13).
Fairfield, Illinois Animal Reaction Case – 1963
1965 – At four o’clock in the afternoon a medical doctor–a
gynecologist–and two other witnesses saw a yellow luminous disc-shaped
object, 50 feet in diameter, land in San Pedro de los Altos,
Venezuela. A shaft of light came down from the object. Inside the
beam descended two 7-8 feet tall men with long blond hair. They wore
seamless metallic coveralls. They communicated telepathically with the
witnesses. (Source: Horacio Gonzalez Ganteaume, FSR,
March-April 1969, p. 21).
1967 – At 2:00 a.m. Pedro Riera of the San Bernardino section of Caracas,
Venezuela was awakened when his bed was suddenly shaken, and he saw
in front of him a small being with an unusally large head wearing a
“rubber suit.” Sr. Riera jumped out of bed and grabbed the little man, but
he wriggled free and went out the second floor window of his bedroom.
Riera looked out and saw a round, multicolored luminous object so
brilliant that he had to close his eyes. In the morning he found deposits
of a rust-like substance, and small footprints in this “rust” on the
pavement below his balcony. Several neighbors had observed the UFO. Two
teenagers and a child saw a saucer-shaped object on the ground on the same
street as Riera lived. (Sources: Jose Schael Guillermo, El
Universal, August 8, 1967; APRO Bulletin, November-December
1973, p. 4; Jim & Coral Lorenzen, UFOs Over the Americas, pp.

Reports, case 1967-72, citing Jose Schael Guillermo and APRO
Bulletin; Jacques Vallee, Passport to Magonia: A Century of Landings, case # 866).
1967 – That afternoon in Caracas, Venezuela a physician,
Dr. Sanchez Vegas, had a most unusual visit from a four foot tall alien in
his office at the Caracas Hospital. The man wore a silver suit, spoke
perfect Spanish, and moved strangely. The creature talked to the doctor
and told him he wanted a physical exam. The being had no ear orifices,
round shaped eyes, ten teeth, a higher than normal temperature, and a
faster than normal heartbeat. (Sources: APRO Bulletin,
September-October 1967, p. 12; Coral E. Lorenzen, UFOs: The Whole
Story, p. 75; Jacques Vallee, Passport to Magonia: A Century of
Landings, case 866; newspaper clipping dated August 17, 1967).
1967 – That evening at 9:00 p.m. a motorcyclist named Alcazar in
Igries, Huesca province, Spain saw a disc-shaped UFO object fly 150
meters above him and land. It was white in color and blinked three times
as it landed. The witness panicked and fled, but others saw it. (Source:
Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos, Catalogue of 200 Type-I UFO Events in
Spain and Portugal, case 49).
1967 – At 10:15 p.m in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, England
a red light circled an aircraft twice, travelling much faster than the
plane. It accelerated into the distance and was gone from view in
seconds. It made no sound. (Source: Roger H. Stanway and Anthony
Pace, UFOs Unidentified Undeniable, p. 6).
1968 – On this date a very
important and well investigated abduction case occurred on the shores of
Lake Champlain near Milton, Vermont. In the late afternoon at a
private camp called Buff Ledge two teenage camp counselors, a man and a
woman, had stayed behind from a campwide swimming meet and were relaxing
by the dock on their day off. They saw a large, glowing cigar-shaped
object swoop low over the lake in the distance. Three small round objects
left the large “mothership,” which then departed. Two of the small objects
also left, but the third, a domed disc-shaped craft, descended close to
the witnesses. It had a transparent dome and a revolving rim. The craft
approached the dock and hovered very close to the witnesses. Two beings
could be seen inside the dome. They had large elongated heads, huge eyes,
two nasal openings, and small mouths. The beings apparently communicated
telepathically with the witnesses. They had no conscious recollection of
what happened next, and the next thing they remembered it is getting dark
and they heard the campers returning from their swim meet. They had lost
track of at least an hour of time.
They never talked about the incident because the camp ended the next
day and they went their separate ways. Years later the man contacted UFO
investigator Walter Webb about his missing time experience. He remembered
that the girl was planning to attend a college in the southeastern U.S. By
knowing the name of the woman’s college, Webb was able to track the second
witness down by contacting her college’s alumni department. He called her
and asked her if she would like to come back to New England and talk about
the incident. She agreed, and through hypnosis both witnesses
independently recalled nearly identical accounts of their abduction
experience.
They gave separate but nearly identical accounts of what happened to
them. When the UFO moved over the dock they were bathed in light from the
object, and both witnesses went into a trance state. They were taken
onboard the craft, although they had no recollection of how they had
gotten there. They were both given medical examinations on a table. They
both gave independent accounts of recalling seeing nearly identical
instrument panels and other instruments. There sketches of the aliens and
the UFO craft were quite similar. When they awoke on the dock it was
evening. An independent witness, a camper who had run down to the lake
ahead of all the others, saw the lighted UFO as it departed the scene.

1969 – Witnesses in Wudinna, South Australia
reported seeing three round yellow objects at around three o’clock in
the morning. Two of the objects merged to form a triangular shaped
object. They then separated again and went behind the cloud cover.

1970 – At 11:30 a.m. in Saladare, near Asmara, Ethiopia a red glowing
ball of fire swept through the village, destroying houses, uprooting
trees, and melting asphalt. It seemed to hover in place and then
back-tracked. It caused eight serious injuries and the death of a little
girl, according to a U.N. doctor. (Sources: J. Allen Hynek & Jacque Vallee, The Edge of Reality:
A Progress Report on Unidentified Flying Objects, p. 160; UNICAT, case # 591).
1971
– At 11:30 a.m. a ball of light followed 50 meters off the right wing
of a light plane flying over farm land in Fresnoy-le-Grande, Aisne, France. It was witnessed by two observers on the ground. (Source: Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 9343).
1972 – At 2:45 p.m. two dark orbs maneuvered in a square-wave trajectory over Beg-Meil, Finistere Department, France for two minutes. Both rose, and then shot off to the north. (Source: Cecilia C. de Puig, Phenomenes Spatiaux, March 1974, p. 20).
1976 – A 50-year-old policeman was out camping at a campsite in Ampus-Chateaudouble, Var department, France
and was listening to his radio when he began experiencing
radio interference at 9:30 p.m. He stepped outside from his camper and
saw a black rectangular-shaped object in a nearby clearing, hovering
about 50cm from the ground. It had what appeared to be a small antenna
on top. The witness started to appr oach the object when
he suddenly saw three thin silhouette-like figures coming from the
direction of the woods. They had long dangling arms and were about 1.20
meters in height. The figures moved towards the object and disappeared
inside through an open doorway. At this time he began to have
difficulty moving and simuoltaneously experienced a headache. A bright
green-violet light then appeared from the bottom of the object and it
vanished from sight. Ground traces were reportedly found. (Source:
Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1976, citing Inforespace, issue # 76,

1976 – At ten p.m. a father and son in Malone, Wisconsin
saw an object the size of a small camper, with revolving multicolored
lights, land in a hayfield. The son drove to the landing site and saw in
his car headlights two green men, five foot seven inches tall. The beings
put their hands over their eyes, and vanished. (Sources: Fond du Lac
Reporter, August 10, 1976; David F. Webb & Ted Bloecher,

1978 – At 10:00 p.m. in Sfax, Tunisia
a flat, disc-shaped object, 50 meters in diameter, descended for
two minutes, made some turns, then shot straight up vertically. There
was a nine minute power outage in the area. (Source: Lumieres dans la Nuit, January 1979).
1978 – In Peoria, Illinois
at 10:00 p.m. two in a car saw a fireball-like object fly
behind a building, then hover for six minutes. It shot off to the
east. A car had been paced by a nocturnal light an hour
earlier. (Sources: Allan Hendry, International UFO Reporter, September 1978, p. 6, 9; UNICAT, case # 150; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 12759).
1981 – In the village of Scudai, Johor, Malaysia
four people–an adult and three children–saw a dark disc-shaped object
descend to a low altitude. It had lit portholes. Beams of light
were directed downward from the object. When it left it rose quickly
into the sky. (Sources: Jamaludin Ahmad, Centre for Malaysian UFO
Studies; MUFON UFO Journal, May 1983; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 14255).
1982 – In Mirassol, Sao Paolo Province, Brazil
a man was walking to work at 5:00 a.m. when he saw a bright light
and felt dizzy. He then passed out and was apparently taken onboard a
craft by several humanoids and taught how to operate some of the
controls. No other information. (Source: Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid
Contact Database, case # 470, citing Thomas E. Bullard, UFO Abductions: The Measure of A Mystery).
1982 – In Woodbury, Georgia
at 8:30 p.m. two well lit disc-shaped objects were seen flying at 300
meters altitude. It had lights around its rim. The disc flew fast, and
then shot straight up. (Source: Michael Hitt, Georgia UFO Phenomenon 1947-1987, p. 17).
1982
– At 10 p.m. two men in their 40s–Raul Peris and Juan Tobares–saw a
light over nearby fields while driving on a road in light rain in
Carnerillo, Argentina. The
light was first about 80 meters away, but quickly reappeared in front
of their truck, resulting in the total failure of their vehicle’s
electrical system. The UFO looked like a flattened sphere, with a door
and an opening on the top, and hovered level with the road. A
two-meter tall entity emerged and approached, spoke to then in an
unintelligible language. (Source: UNICAT, case # 201, citing Mario
Bracamonte).
1984 – At 10:00 p.m. a woman in Ossining, Westchester County, New York saw
a diamond-shaped object fly over her house; it had red and white lights
on its sides. (Source: J. Allen Hynek, Philip J. Imbrogno & Bob
Pratt, Night Siege: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings, p. 204).
1986 – Two years after the previous low level, night time fly-over of a diamond shaped object in Ossining, New York,
it happened again. A silent diamond-shaped object flew over a
house at treetop level (estimated 75 feet altitude), at 50 mph. It
had large red lights on the front and back, with large white
lights on the corner points. (Source: J. Allen Hynek, Philip J. Imbrogno & Bob Pratt, Night Siege: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings, p. 131).
1993
– At 10:45 p.m. a blue beam from 40 meter wide disc-shaped object
struck the highway in front of the witness’s car, driving on Highway
D71 in Beux, Moselle Department, France. The witness felt pain. There was no sound nor any odor from the UFO, which flew off quickly to the northeast. (Source: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue 320).
1993 – At 10:45 p.m. in Mountain Home, Arkansas
another vehicle close encounter occurred with a UFO. A giant (greater
then 100 feet in length) cylinder or capsule-shaped object flew over a
van being driven by a couple in their 40s. It made a corkscrew turn
before departing. (Source: Lawrence Willett, MUFON Field Investigation
case file # 940303J).
1993 – On this night in Alton Priors, Wiltshire, England
a video was shot of a delta-shaped object hovering. Crop circles
were found in the vicinity later. (Source: UFO Newsclipping Service,
November 1993; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 16131).
1994 – On this day near Indian Creek, Tennessee
a three-foot tall pasty white human-like being was seen briefly, before
it scurried into the brush. (Source: Albert S. Rosales, 1994 Humanoid
Reports database).
1995 – At 2:00 a.m. a large triangle craft hovered for two minutes over a lake in Sedgefield, Western Cape, South Africa; it was gone in a split second. It was witnessed by three police. (Source: Cynthia Hind, UFO AfriNews, volume 12 (1995)).
1995 – Two people in a car driving east near Sept-Iles, Quebec spotted a panel of lights that followed them for 70 minutes, making sudden wild jumps. (Source: Phenomena, issue 32).
1997 – At 9:45 p.m. a 22-year-old man and his 11-year-old cousin were driving home at Stone State Park, near Sioux City, Iowa
when the younger one spotted a triangular shaped object in the sky. The
craft was about 400 feet away and at an initial altitude of about 200
feet, and seemed to be moving parallel to the road. It appeared to
be about 60 feet in length, with large amber lights at the corners. A
faint glow from the lights illuminated the outline of the object when
it tilted. As the witness drove through the heavily wooded area of
hills, deep ravines and winding roads, the craft crossed the road just
behind their vehicle, and vanished toward the west. When they turned
onto the road leading to their farmhouse, a “strange animal” bumped
into the car’s passenger door. It resembled something like a
snarling hyena, with big red eyes and huge teeth offseting a
short, pointed nose, and small ears. The fur was tan, striped, and
spotted with black; it had taut, bulging muscles all over its body.
Arriving home, the witnesses and other family members watched a larger
triangular shaped craft moving very slowly at about 300 feet altitude.
It then hovered for 15 minutes before leaving. Since the sighting, the
younger boy has had repeated dreams featuring “large heads with no
faces”. In the dreams he feels lots of hands touching him, he
can’t move, and he is being carried and laid on a couch. The
night previous to this encounter the Sioux City police dept
received numerous calls about a hairy Bigfoot type creature in the area
of 17th Street, on the city’s Northside. On September 19 the
22-year-old man again saw the same or a similar creature. The
family has been involved in other bizarre phenomena
and encounters. (Sources: Bevery Trout, MUFON Field Investigation
Files, case # 971116dC; Albert S. Rosales, 1997 Humanoid Sighting
Reports Database, case # 2813, citing Beverly

2001 – At 4:00 a.m. in Aveiro, Portugal
a very large, bowl-shaped UFO was seen near the beach, with a blue
light surrounding it, and making a humming noise. (Source: Peter
Davenport, National UFO Reporting Center, report uploaded June 18,
2003).
2001 – At 3:45 a.m. a camper had a close encounter with a dark, disc-shaped object at Mammoth Lakes, California.
The UFO was slowly moving and then stopping as it approached, and came
within 50 feet of his campsite. He was inside his sleeping bag
next to his girlfriend, who was asleep. It made a humming sound
as it hovered two feet from the ground, and emitted a dull blue
beam from its far edge, as if searching for someone or something. The
camper was frozen with fear and curiosity. It faded and became
invisible with a slight atmospheric distortion like a mirage. It
flaoted upwards and was gone in five minutes. Five minutes later the
crickets started making noise again, and the camper stayed up for the
rest of the night. (Sources:George A. Filer, Filer’s Files: Worldwide Reports of UFO Sightings, p. 19; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case # 18177; Peter Davenport, National UFO Reporting Center).
2001 – At 10:20 p.m. in the suburbs of Evanston, Hamilton County, Ohio
a witness reported seeing a streak of light, then a flying triangle
slowed down and stopped about 200-300 yards away. Its broad side was
facing forward, and the two front tips seemed to have two brighter
lights then rest of the object. It moved very slowly for 15-20 seconds,
then streaked off to the north. All of the lights on the triangular
craft were a bright hazy white. (Source: George A. Filer, Filer’s Files: Worldwide Reports of UFO Sightings, p. 79).
2001 – A disc-shaped object hovered 500 feet silently over Dillworth Mountain in Kelowna, British Columbia
at 11:30 p.m. It had a large red and white ball of light in the center,
but the rest of the object appeared black against the night sky. After
30 minutes the object turned down its illumination in the center
like a dimmer switch. (Sources: George A. Filer, Filer’s Files: Worldwide Reports of UFO Sightings, p. 42; Geoff Dittman, 2001 Canadian UFO Survey, case # 216; Peter Davenport, National UFO Reporting Center).
2002 – On this morning dozens of peasants saw a UFO land on a farm near Trikala in northern Greece.
It was described as a 10 meter in diameter disc, with hundreds of
small portholes. After it had landed and left it left traces in a
farmer’s field. Villagers said it caused enormous light flashes, and
made unusual maneuvers. (Source:George A. Filer, Filer’s Files: Worldwide Reports of UFO Sightings, p. 38, citing the Athens News Agency).
2007 – At 11:00 p.m. in Prince George, British Columbia
three white spheres were sighted moving about in the sky, making a
humming sound, and creating a sonic boom. (Source: Chris Rutkowski,
2007 Canadian UFO Survey, case 483, citing UFOBC).
